Sean Curnow: WEEKS (UK) Ltd have committed their support to the UAE CC 2010 (a continuation of their involvement from 2008).

WEEKS are a family owned multi-disciplined organisation, trading for over 25 years, providing integrated technical construction services throughout Europe, Asia and Africa.

WEEKS specialise in the provision of services to the construction and oil/gas industries. Topographical surveys, design, contract strategies, procurement and the supervision of civil engineering and building works. Projects range from well sites, base camps and access roads to production facilities and underground gas storage schemes.

WEEKS have a well established history of charitable support / funding. Some comments from Phil Weeks - Founder and Managing Director of WEEKS (UK) Ltd.

“WEEKS charitable involvement generally centres around charities where a Company member has a personal connection - for example Royal National Institute of Blind, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Royal British Legion and Children with Leukaemia.

In 2009 WEEKS also co-sponsored two young lads on their Lands End to John O’Groats Charity Cycle ride. Over 1000 miles completed in 9.5 days, this was a significant achievement. Funds raised were split jointly between the NSPCC and the International Scouts Project Zambia 2010 to build a school/community centre.

WEEKS are proud to have been associated with sponsoring “the UAECC team” in the 2008 UAE Desert Challenge. Not only was the six day, 2200kms ride an ultimate test of endurance for the four guys, the achievement of the sponsorship monies raised, together with the commitment to practice, training, logistics and media representation was tremendous.

Achieving sufficient funds to purchase a new bus for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs and to support the Malaria Consortium with the distribution of almost 6000 Long Lasting Insecticide Nets to in excess of 10,000 people near to Lake Albert, Uganda, together with the usage and care education programme, can be considered a significant success.

WEEKS are pleased to be able to match their support for the 2010 UAE CC. Whilst the current economic climate dictates that matching the previous fund raising goal will be tough, WEEKS wish “the UAE CC team” every success in this new challenge.”
